NLT's Smart Acquisition Technology revolutionizes the nonlinear acquisition process by capturing metadata that you input.  (Attributes describe the clip you are recording, the way you want to.) Broadcast clips are logged automatically, and are instantly ready for retrieval. SAT eliminates time spent digitizing, annotating and sorting.

The DNS 33W Recorder captures your metadata in real-time simultaneously as you record (live logging) - unlike any product on the market today. Metadata applied are your custom, specific settings. Switch between viewing your data settings and captured video at the press of a button.

Manages your recorded clips easily

As easy as you capture, edit, delete, store, save, and manage your own personal digital photos, you can do the same with your Broadcast clips. Create bins to store clips, organize and manage bins as you do other digital media using the familiar file folder structure. The DNS 33W's color LCD panel makes it easy to create and name bins and clips, or you can use the new SAT PakTools software to manage your bins and custom metadata offline.

Automatically create proxy clips as you record  

Capture a proxy clip of every high resolution shot you make in a bit rate and screen size that suits your needs.  You can view Proxy clips directly with a standard Windows Media Player. Use a Proxy copy of the video for distributing clips to individuals, archiving, or sending to a server. Every clip will have its own enhanced, descriptive metadata that matches that assigned to the high resolution clip. Use a USB media stick to retreive Proxy video from the DNS 33W, even between shots. Use the Proxy as a light weight copy, or send the clip or Proxy with your custom embedded metadata to others. It's that simple.

About compatibility

The DNS 33W produces OMF and MXF standard file formats supporting multi-vendor workflows. It is also nonlinear editor compatible with leading industry products from vendors such as Avid, Apple and Quantel. 

Use RetroLoop and never miss a shot

Catch the start of every clip before you think it will happen with the RetroLoop feature. Simply set the RetroLoop time, and record. Never miss a shot again. RetroLoop begins recording before the action begins and uses a minimal amount of storage while engaged.  Retroloop gets your shot without wasting valuable storage.

Use Time lapsed recording for special shots

With a programmable video capture rate, you can easily gets those time lapsed shots when the situation requires it.  Create stop motion clips with a special animation mode.  The DNS 33W supports one frame capture mode.   With this mode, every press of the trigger adds a frame of video to your clip for simple manual created anamitaions.
